The Great Lock In, 2026
And sometimes, “locking in” is just another performative crap we do to convince ourselves that we’re doing stuff.
We make more plans, talk more, and just “larp” being busy. (I just learnt that word 😭)
We do a lot of movement without actually going anywhere.
For me, I want things to be different this time. And this is not just me talking. It’s me trying to take responsibility and actually hold myself accountable.
This year, I want to do more and talk less.
I want to focus on fewer things. Finish things. Give ideas enough time to work or fail. Stop mistaking being busy for making progress.
In the past few months, I’ve found myself doing a lot and getting closer and closer to becoming a vibe coder, vibe liver, vibe sibling, son, friend... basically just vibing through life.
Four months is a long time. Maybe it’s enough time to change your life, maybe not. Who knows?
We just have to find out.
As much as I want to take charge, I also don’t want to turn this into some completely boxed challenge with performance reviews and deliverables.
I also want to LIVE.
I want to go out. Touch grass. Make friends. Have fun. Eat well. Sleep well. Even though I’m up past 3am writing this, so we’re already starting on the wrong foot.
I want to be able to sit down in December, look back at the previous months and be happy with the decisions I made.
I want to have built something meaningful. Probably made more money. Learnt something new. Gotten stronger, both physically and emotionally.
But if all I did was stay afloat, pay my bills, keep the people I care about close, maintain a good life balance and survive another year of this “capitalist” world, that counts too.
Because at the end of the day, the goal is to make sure I didn’t just rot in sadness.
That I survived. That I lived. That I was happy about what I had, while still looking forward to whatever comes next.
This is me trying to keep myself accountable.
Four months of being intentional about what I do, where my time goes, and overall, trying to take control of my life.
